Tending to Nature's Seasonal Gifts
Visiting Currans Garden Center, no matter what time of year, is a beautiful experience like no other. Our inviting space welcomes customers to browse our collection of high-quality, well-cared-for plants to decorate their homes, enhance their own gardens, or send to loved ones as fresh, inspiring gifts. During the warmer months, explore our outdoor courtyard bursting with vibrant, colorful annuals or stroll through our greenhouses to find the perfect indoor foliage or blooming plant.
Currans Garden Center offers indoor plant baskets and planters that customers can fill and design themselves or have our experts create something incredible for them. Unlike other garden centers, Currans' customers also have the option of dropping off empty outdoor planters, pots, and other containers to have them professionally filled and custom designed with the best seasonal plants in town.
Beginning in March, the Currans team tends to many thousands of outdoor annuals for eager gardeners to fill their flower beds and hanging baskets with spring and summertime blooms. June marks the start of autumn preparations as the team plants favorite fall crops like hardy mums, ornamental peppers, and grasses. As cold air creeps into November, it is time to begin planting tulip bulbs so they can be ready to harvest between January and Easter. While winter picks up, the Currans team is busy stocking the garden center with fresh-cut evergreens, wreaths, bundled greens, berries, handmade kissing balls, and other festive decor. In January, dormant hydrangeas are grown into giant colorful blossoms that will be ready in time for Easter, as well as cool weather botanicals, including pansies. Once the threat of frost has passed, our customers will always have fantastic flowers and bountiful plants to admire.
We owe the quality, freshness, and undeniable beauty of our plants to our head grower Tim Martens and his dedicated team. They take great pride and care in handling all of our botanicals. Their passion for excellence can be seen in the quality of our plants and flowers and truly sets us apart from other garden centers in the area. Under Tim's guidance, each plant is watered, fed, pruned, and handled with the utmost attention to detail. He regularly meets with chemists who analyze our water and suggest the right fertilizer formula for our plants' optimal nutrient uptake.
To help customers continue the best practices for gardening and caring for their indoor and outdoor plants, we recommend watering each plant once a week and utilizing a fertilizer that works in conjunction with the type of water in our region. Luckily, Currans Garden Center sells the perfect fertilizer for the job! It is also essential to know the signs of over-watering and under-watering your plants. Tim's rule of thumb is to only water your plants when the soil is dry to the touch.
Currans Garden Center is always in a state of evolution driven by the vision of Tim and his team.
